Important!!! Write the Corp of Engineers---Flooding Ewingville

Neighbors

At last we have a way to be proactive about the future of flood control as it affects Ewingville.  This may be our first real opportunity to be heard where it matters most.

The Corp of Engineers is doing a feasibility study of flooding on the Harpeth as it affects Nashville, Williamson County and Franklin.  They held a meeting on November 13 in City Hall.  We did not get a notice of this meeting sooner than 4 hours before it.  Immediately the E mail list was sent the notice of this meeting.

Amanda Burt from the Corp was at the meeting.  She is in charge of the feasibility study.  This study will take 18 months.

Basically the Corp wants to hear from people as it begins to analyze flood risk management and ecosystem restoration for the Harpeth.

This is your opportunity to state how the flood of May 1, 2010 affected you.  Were you out of your property, how long, and at what expense? Were you warned ahead that major flooding was to occur?  What other feelings or concerns do you have?

Write to Amanda.L.Burt@usace.army.mil   She does want to hear from each of us.

Ann Petersen, Alderman at Large, will continue to keep this blog webmistress informed.  Information will be posted as soon as it is known.  There will be a similar meeting sometime in Bellevue.  The date is not known.
