Meeting held June 13, 2012

Fifteen houses were represented at the meeting with city officials to discuss buyout properties, trees and restoration on June 13, 2012.  The meeting occurred at 119 Ewingville, Buck home.  Approximately 20 residents attended this meeting.

Ben Worley, project manager for removing buy out houses and restoring the land volunteered to let us gather and learn information from him.  Aldeman Ann Petersen was in attendance. 


The contractor, selected by BOMA (Board of Mayor and Aldermen), is Modern Day Wrecking Company...Nashville. They will work 7-6 M-F and 9-6 on Sa.
Buy out properties at 117 and 119 Ewingville have been paid. It will take 2-3 weeks to get contracts signed and the houses  will be completed  with the demolishion complete within 30 days.  Land restoration will complete the project.  Land restoration includes proper drainage, and restoring the land to support grass.

The property at 127 Ewingville, Forbes, has been signed by them.  The closing has not occurred as of June 13, 2012.

All properties have to be complete 90 days after closing.

The use of this land was discussed. Ann Peterson. Alderman, said that the plans for the walking trail are on the other side of the river.
Ben Worley, Project Manager, was not clear on how the land could be used after completion. He said there were 3 pages of restrictions from FEMA but he felt that a parking lot of gravel could be used. Those assembled told him they were not interested in any parking lot. This decision does not fall under his jurisdiction.
